The City of Fredericton is steeped in a particularly rich and fascinating history, a history that’s on display for every citizen to see and enjoy.

Fredericton contains one of only three National Historic Districts in New Brunswick (Historic
Marysville) and administers a local preservation area (the St. Anne's Point Heritage Preservation Area). This neighbourhood, just east of downtown, was so designated because of the distinctive character of its buildings and streetscapes, which collectively illustrate the evolution of a neighbourhood over 150 years.

Just a 5-min drive away from popular shops and malls uptown to the quaint unique locally-operated shops downtown.​ The city is filled with restaurants, pubs and outdoor kiosks. 

Enjoy the market scene with Boyce Farmers Market open early Saturday and the Northside Market open both Saturday & Sunday mornings filled with food and craft vendors. The city also offers Flea Markets and Craft Fairs that operate throughout the city, year round with major season craft events.
